Festive Mass and Jazz Concert with Osmar Barutti Quintet
In 2024, the Scandinavian Church will celebrate 50 years since the construction of its chapel began. We will celebrate this significant milestone with a Mass led by Synod Pastor Fredrik Ollila of the Swedish Church in New York and with the presence and support of our pastors Pierre Schelander, Steen Lerfeldt and Roberto Baptista of the Church of Peace.
After the commemorative Mass, we will have a jazz concert with the Osmar Barutti Quintet, accompanied by singer Giana Viscardi. Osmar Barutti is a pianist, composer, arranger and music teacher. He was part of the Sextet of the Jó Program and was present at the unforgettable interview with Eila Ampula, who designed the wonderful tapestries for our chapel, made by Jó Soares. The Osmar Barutti Quintet will play a repertoire of Antônio Carlos Jobim and Henry Mancini.
We will serve Scandinavian canapés and drinks (with and without alcohol).
